Dr. Valarie Gray Turner brings to the Psychological Group of Washington experience in working with adolescents, individuals, couples and groups, with varied diagnoses. She has clinical experience in public and private mental health centers and various college and community settings. She is particularly skilled and interested in working with adjustment issues, depression, personality disorders, anxiety, stress management, relationship and women's issues. She also is experienced in career counseling and providing consulting services for various local agencies and programs.

Dr. Turner earned her Ph.D. at Howard University in the Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program, and completed her APA accredited Internship at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Turner began her training in psychology at Howard University, Washington, DC, where she earned her baccalaureate and Master's degrees. Dr. Turner works for the Howard University Counseling Service and serves as the Director of Testing.
