Dr. Maia Coleman King brings to the Psychological Group of Washington experience in working with individuals, adolescents, groups and families who are dealing with issues ranging from adjustment difficulties to more serious mental illnesses. She has a particular interest in working with women struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety. Dr. Coleman King also has extensive training and experience in psychological assessment of children, adults and forensic populations.

Dr. Coleman King earned her Ph.D. at Howard University in Clinical Psychology. She is also a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where she earned a Masters in Developmental Psychology. She completed her Internship at the APA-accredited Howard University Counseling Services Internship Program. Dr. Coleman King works for the District of Columbia Public School System and is a Fellow with the Washington Chapter of the New York Freudian Society.
