Mission
Our mission is to utilize our expertise in understanding personal challenges so that we may assist individuals in transforming
their lives and reaching their full potential.
Philosophy
We believe that therapeutic success is achieved through the development of insight into one's unconscious processes and understanding its impact on current conflicts.
As partners in the client's treatment we encourage utilization of the therapeutic relationship to bring about awareness, thereby leading to change.
The common goal of treatment is to develop coping strategies to deal with feelings that accompany one's experiences.
In using the therapeutic relationship to explore the past and present, one is able to create new, successful paths for the future.
Treatment
The Psychological Group of Washington treatment modality is designed to meet the specific needs of the client.
Thus, we recognize it is essential to focus on building a trusting relationship, while creating a holding environment where the client feels
safe to openly express him/her self. We believe that therapeutic success is achieved through the development of insight into one's
unconscious processes and understanding its impact on current conflicts.
As therapists, we believe that needs of the client are individual.
It is therefore important to foster collaboration between the client and therapist to be involved in contributing to the goal of treatment to
address each individual's needs and desires. Whether the need is to address tensions deriving from complexes that reside deep in the unconscious,
or to address concerns with spirituality, meaning, freedom, or responsibility, we make efforts to appropriately guide the client to a state of empowerment.
From this point the client can be an equal participant in guiding his/her work to become a healthy, self-actualized and productive member of society who
is fully capable to function in the home, work, social, and/or school environments. To achieve this goal, interventions are multilayered in order to
facilitate therapeutic change. Combining the intra-psychic with the psychosocial perspective allows the client to implement change in diverse settings.
Our symbol, MMANE DANE, is a representation that time changes life dynamics.
It is The Psychological Group of Washington's belief that with the development of insight, understanding and trust in a
therapeutic relationship, one can become aware of oneself and become equipped to lead a productive, successful and rewarding life.
In examining the past and present, our clients are able to begin to take steps towards a healthy future.
